The previous definition in regards to an application containing (I) the claims of a determined product and those of processes specially conceived for its fabrication or use, or (II) the claims of a determined process and those of an apparatus or means specially conceived for its application, or (III) the claims of a determined product and those of processes specially conceived for its fabrication and those of an apparatus or means specially conceived for its application, has been discarded from the Law.
Instead, unity of invention is defined as when there are a group of inventions that have a relation in function of their essential technical features that constitute a contribution to the state of the art. This definition is actually clearer than the previous one by stating the relation of the different claims in the application, and includes all embodiments and different possible inventions.
