The Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) will start operation as a WIPO DAS depositing Office and an accessing Office starting November 3, 2020.
Depositing Office
IMPI will deposit certified copies of patent, utility model and industrial design applications as priority documents, including PCT applications filed at the Office starting November 3, 2020, when the applicant has requested that these documents be made available to the service.
The corresponding Request Form must be used to request the Office to make the application available through the service, or by sending a letter to the Office indicating the application number and that it should be made available to the WIPO Digital Access Service.
Accessing Office
IMPI will recognize priority documents available through the service for any application (paper and electronically filed) in which the time for filing the priority documents have not expired by November 3, 2020.
To request the Office to retrieve the document from the service, the applicant should check the box of the priority claim on the application format or send a letter to the Office.
The Office will accept color, greyscale black and white documents in PDF format.
