Yesterday, the Mexican Official Gazette published a communication related to the measures taken for applicants affected by the earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011.
In view of the mentioned tragic events and in order to avoid disrupting the processing of applications for patents, utility models, industrial designs, and layout designs of integrated circuits; the Mexican Patent Office, as of March 14, 2011 has determined to suspend, until further notice, all deadlines and terms provided in the Mexican Trademark Law and its Regulations for all applicants who indicated an address in Japan.
